With a knee injury, Harry Maguire is expected to miss the rest of the season. The defender’s future at Manchester United is uncertain, and he may have already played his last game for the club.

Ralf Rangnick, United’s interim manager, stated during a press conference on Wednesday that Maguire’s injury was not a major concern. “Harry Maguire is not available tomorrow, he has some knee concerns,” Rangnick stated before of the arrival of Chelsea on Thursday.

“Not a big thing, a niggle with his knee. He didn’t train yesterday nor today.”

Maguire is still fighting to be healthy by the conclusion of the season. Chelsea, Brentford, Brighton, and Crystal Palace are United’s remaining Premier League opponents.

According to the report, the £80 million centre-future back’s will be scrutinized this summer. Incoming United manager Erik ten Hag will look to sign a new central defender in his first transfer window in charge, raising doubts over Maguire’s future at the club.

Last Saturday’s 3-1 loss at Arsenal, which was undoubtedly the final nail in the coffin of their top-four chances, saw the 29-year-old sacked. Maguire has had issues off the field as well.

Maguire joined United from Leicester in 2019 and has now played 150 times for the club. Following the departure of Ashley Young to Inter Milan, he was named club captain barely six months after arriving.
