King Faisal’s bid to escape relegation might have just received a new lease on life after the Ghana Football Association’s decision to demote AshantiGold SC.

The GFA found both AshGold and Inter Allies guilty of match fixing in July 2021 and have handed hefty fines as well as demoted both clubs to Division Two.

The demotion will take effect at the end of the 2021/22 season which now means only two more clubs will be relegated in the Ghana Premier League.

As things stand, King Faisal are 16th on the log, four points above WAFA. This means that the two clubs alongside AshGold who will be relegated are WAFA and Elmina Sharks with the current standings.

With six games to go till the end of the season a lot can still change in terms of the table. But the Insha Allah boys will have in mind that they do have a buffer now and survival is still in their own hands.
