A man reported to be Tiemoue Bakayoko was stopped by armed police in an apparent case of mistaken identity.

The French midfielder, who is currently contracted to Chelsea, is on loan at Serie A champions Milan where the incident occurred.

A video that’s going viral on social media shows Bakayako being searched on the streets of an unnamed Italian city while being held at gunpoint.

The footage shows a police officer frisking Bakayoko before another appears and appears to tell him they were not looking for him.

The frisking police officer is then left feeling humiliated as he pretends to pat Bakayoko on the back to express his regret for the error.

He was a member of the AC Milan group that captured the team’s first Scudetto in eleven years.

Marseille have been heavily linked with a move and that could see the 27-year-old return to France in a bid to reignite his career after spending the last four years away from west London on loan.
