After a hectic few months, Cristiano Ronaldo may now be permitted to leave Manchester United in January.

The Telegraph reports that Erik ten Hag will now permit Ronaldo to leave Man United in January, but only if the United striker receives a reasonable offer.

At the beginning of the season, Ten Hag apparently wanted to keep Ronaldo, but that stance has now changed, according to the report.

The 37-year-old also hopes that between now and the World Cup, his chances of receiving more playing time at Man United grow and that a great performance in Qatar will increase his chances of joining a competitive team during the winter transfer window.

The Portuguese star made it apparent that he intended to quit Manchester United this summer, but he left it too late and had they let him go, they would not have been able to locate a suitable replacement.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, made offers to many of Europe’s top teams, but no one was interested in signing the 37-year-old. This could present a problem this time around, and Man United will be looking for a fair price in return.
