Erik ten Hag has claimed Manchester United could go the rest of the 2022/23 season without a loss but they would first half to prove it.

Following a shaky start to the season, Man United found their rhythm and gelled as a team going on an impressive run before the World Cup.

The team continued from where they left off as they went on a nine-game unbeaten before the 2-3 loss to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

Until the 7-0 thumping they suffered against Liverpool, the Red Devils were on another strong run and Ten Hag is optimistic his team can distance themselves from defeat from now till the season ends.

“We are capable of it [going unbeaten for the rest of the season] but now we have to show it again,” the Dutchman said.

“We can’t think too far ahead and must take it game-by-game.”

Ten Hag also spoke about the progress he has made with the team since taking over the managerial role in the summer.

“I think we have made good progress, but we also have to acknowledge that there is still a gap. I couldn’t expect us to close that gap quickly. We are trying to win every game and we have beaten all of the top teams,” he added.

Man United will face Real Betis in the last 16 second-tie of their Europa League campaign on Thursday, posing a 4-1 advantage from the first fixture.
