Winning a treble with Manchester City will mean everything – Erling Haaland

Premier League Player of the Season Erling Haaland says it will be a ‘dream’ to win the treble with Manchester City in his first season.

City can complete the second leg of a potential treble by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.

If they win, Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions can complete the treble with a win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final next Saturday in Istanbul as well.

Haaland, who has set scoring records this season with 52 goals, believes City are desperate to repeat United’s remarkable performance from 1999.

“It would be unreal to make this history,” Haaland said.

“This is why they bought me of course, to get this, we don’t have to hide that. It would mean everything. I will do everything I possibly can to try to make it happen. It’s my biggest dream and hopefully, dreams do come true.

“But as well it’s not easy – it’s two finals against two good teams that will do everything they can to try to destroy that. They will be motivated, they will be ready and we have to play at our best, because if we play at our best we have a really good chance of achieving exactly that.”

Haaland is hoping to play a key role on Saturday as Wembley to keep the hopes alive.
