Guinea players will be expected to reimburse the money invested in them after their elimination from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Syli Nationale lost 1-0 to The Gambia in the round of 16 stage of the ongoing continental showpiece.
Before the tournament, the interim president of Guinea, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya told players of the national team to win AFCON or reimburse every fee invested in them.
Guinea featured in their 13th AFCON tournament in Cameroon with their best ever performance being in 1976, when they finished as runners-up.
Despite never winning the competition, Colonel Doumbouya was unfazed and tasked the team to go all out for the ultimate.
“The cup or you reimburse the money that’s been invested in you,” he said to the team at their sending-off meeting.
