Annor Walker, the coach of the Black Stars B, claims he chose players for the CHAN qualifiers in 2023 based on the work of sports journalists.

Walker has chosen a 35-man squad, with seven players from Hearts of Oak and only three from Ghana Premier League leaders Asante Kotoko.

Annor Walker, in an interview with Class FM, said: “To be frank I did the selections based on stats from Journalists.”

“I also made my checks and did some monitoring on the selected players and they are the best.”

“I believe as good friends as you (journalists) are I’m not sure you will recommend me a bad player.”

“Besides this, I have called 25 players. We are going to camp. Within one week, me Annor Walker I’m telling you, even two days I can come up with my team,” He added.

The Black Stars B are vying for a spot in the biennial championship, which will take place in Algeria in January 2023.

Ghana had failed to qualify for the tournament in the previous three editions and will be hoping to do so again this time.

In the 2009 and 2014 editions of the competition, the Black Stars ‘B’ finished second.
