Salihamidzic has said that Bayern would be “amateurs” to not go after Haaland, who is available for around £150million this summer.
However, the 21-year-old has a clause in his contract that will be activated next year, making him available for around half that price.
Salihamidzic told German TV channel Sport1: “This is a top player that probably the whole world wants. Of course we are looking there. Otherwise, we would be complete amateurs.”
Borussia Dortmund‘s sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed that Haaland intends on staying at the Westfalenstadion for the upcoming season, saying: “Erling feels incredibly comfortable with us.
“He wants to achieve something with this team – and I don’t have the feeling at all that he wants away.”
As well as Chelsea and Bayern, Real Madrid and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Norweigan.
