Chelsea put behind them what has been a terrible week after retuning to winning ways in flamboyant style scoring six goals against Southampton.

After losing 4-1 and 3-1 to Brentford and Real Madrid in consecutive games at Stamford bridge, the Blues got a much-needed boost at the St. Mary’s ahead of the second leg against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea were dominant in the first half scoring four goals and hitting the woodwork thrice.  Werner came close by hitting the post and crossbar in the early minutes before Marcos Alonso gave Thomas Tuchel’s men the lead.

Mason Mount doubled the visitor’s lead with a long-range effort before Werner made it three after rounding Fraser Forster.

Kai Havertz joined the party after he tapped the ball from close range into an open net.

Chelsea returned to the second half in similar mood with Werner grabbing his second after benefiting from a rebound from N’Golo Kante’s effort.

Mount scored his second and Chelsea’s sixth from close range making it an afternoon to forget Ralph Hasenhuttl and his players.
