According to numerous reports, Manchester City will complete their signing of Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland this week.

The Premier League winners have made the Norway international one of their top summer transfer targets, with Pep Guardiola wanting to add a new central striker ahead of next season.

According to the Athletic, City and Haaland have already negotiated personal terms, and the 21-year-old has stated his willingness to join Guardiola’s side.

According to the source, City’s signing of Haaland is “a done deal,” with an official announcement likely this week.

Haaland’s €75 million (£64.2 million) release clause will be paid by City, and the striker is expected to earn around £500,000 per week.

Since joining Dortmund in December 2019, Haaland has swiftly established himself as one of Europe’s top strikers, netting 85 goals in 88 games for the Bundesliga side.

Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl indicated on Sunday that Haaland’s future would be decided this week, adding that the transfer had been delayed due to the death of the striker’s agent Mino Raiola.

‘I know what is in the contract, we are bound by the exit clause,’ Kehl told Sport1.

‘We have tried in the last few months to reach a decision on Erling’s future. But then came the death of Raiola.

‘Unfortunately, the issue has dragged on a bit. But I think we will have clarity in the next week.’
