Andre Ayew appeared in parliament on Thursday, where he responded to inquiries from several members concerning Ghana’s poor performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
When the 32-year-old was called in for a meeting in February, it had to be postponed because of a club engagement.
One of Ghana’s three goals during the competition earlier this year in Cameroon was scored by the forward, who plays for Al Sadd in Qatar.
Ghana unexpectedly lost to debutants Comoros and Morocco in the first round, earning just one point against Gabon. Black Stars failed to advance from the group for the first time since 2006 at that point.
The Black Stars made atonement, though, by defeating vengeful foe Nigeria in the play-offs to earn a spot in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
