Jamie Allen, a striker with FC Halifax Town, has officially signed up to compete on the popular Love Island series on ITV2. The forward, who is capable of playing both up front and on the flank, will make an appearance in a future episode as one of four newcomers.

The forward accepted the opportunity to participate in the show, and The Shaymen announced on social media that they will review his future after he returned from the villa. The 27-year-old Allen began his playing career at Fleetwood Town and has since played for teams including Barrow, Southport, and Dover Athletic. He has also participated in international football, having represented Montserrat on multiple occasions.

He has now set his sights on fame and love. He is known for his frantic speed. Following Castleford Tigers rugby league player Jacques O’Neill, who left the show last week, he is the second professional athlete from West Yorkshire to compete on the show this year.
