Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. has fueled speculations linking Carlo Ancelotti to the vacant Brazil coaching job after claiming his club manager is interested.

Brazil are on the market for a new head coach following the resignation of Tite after the Selecao’s 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Tite guided the team to a quarterfinal finish where they lost to Croatia on penalties after 120 minutes of action.

Ancelotti has been with Madrid since joining the Spanish side from Everton two summers ago and won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga titles with the club last season.

However, the Italian has been heavily linked with the Brazil job and his performances with Los Blancos this season has not done any favours with reports he could be shown the exit.

Speaking while on international duty, Vinicius joked that Ancelotti is interested in managing the Brazil national team.

“Ancelotti is the best manager I ever had. He has shown me great affection. I believe he does want to coach Brazil,” he said.

Earlier in the week, Ederson and Rodrygo Goes were all quizzed about the speculations and both players didn’t shy away from it.

“I spoke to Casemiro, Vinicius and Militão… there’s a big possibility that Carlo Ancelotti is gonna become the new coach of Brazil,” Ederson said.

Ancelotti at the moment will look to complete the 2022/23 season with Madrid with the team still in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
