Barcelona manager Xavi says he is determined to help Ansu Fatigue excel at the club despite his recent challenges with game time.

The winger has struggled for games this campaign and has only resorted to being back at the La Liga side, a situation he is not happy with.

At Camp Nou, Ferran Torres, Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele, and Gavi, at some point, have all been preferred for the wing positions with Fati not fancied as much.

The 20-year-old has started just nine of the 29 league games he played this season averaging 39 minutes per game.

He also has three goals and three assists in the Spanish league but his lack of game time has raised concerns.

However, Xavi has assured that he is keen to get the best of the player amid talks he could leave the club at the end of the season.

“I have a lot of faith in Ansu Fati. I want him to succeed here. He’s calm and focused. He’s training very well. I understand his father, but I don’t give it importance,” he said.

“Ansu is only 20 years old. You have to be patient. At Barça, there is a lot of competition.”

Barcelona beat Elche on Saturday to go 15 points clear of second-placed Real Madrid.
