Manchester United will be without Marcus Rashford for a few games following his injury against Everton over the weekend.

The forward is expected to miss the Red Devils’ UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash against Sevilla on Thursday, April 13.

Rashford suffered the injury setback during Man United’s 2-0 victory over the Toffees on Saturday. He hobbled off the pitch in the 81st minute while clutching his groin.

Rashford, 25, will probably miss “a few games,” according to a statement issued by the Premier League side on Wednesday.

United said: “Subsequent assessment of the injury suggested that Marcus will be unavailable for a few games, but is expected to be back for the season run-in.

“But there will also be relief about the prospect of his return for important games in the final weeks of the season.”

Prior to the official communication about Rashford’s injury, United manager, Erik ten Hag complained about the busy schedule in the final lap of the season.

“It can’t be that you play three games in six days. We have to protect our players,” he said after the win over Everton.

In 47 club games this season, Rashford has been key for United, scoring 28 goals and dishing out 10 assists.

Sevilla, who United play in the Europa League next, have had a difficult season and travels to Old Trafford not looking too great. They are only five points above the La Liga relegation zone and have fired two managers, Julen Lopetegui and Jorge Sampaoli this season.
