Getafe won over Girona and Sevilla to secure three victories in the span of five games after snapping their losing streak with a 1-0 triumph against Valencia, which was followed by a scoreless draw at Athletic Bilbao.
With Real Madrid winning against Cadiz on Saturday, Barcelona understand the need to secure the maximum points against Getafe away from home as they look to wrap up the league title.
With a 4-0 Copa del Rey loss to Real Madrid coming before Monday’s scoreless draw with Girona, Barca finds itself in an unfamiliar predicament as they look at ending a two-match winless run.
But it’s important to keep in mind that Barcelona won 11 of its previous 12 league games before drawing with Girona, solidifying their hold on the league’s first championship since 2018–19.
