Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti lauded Aurelien Tchouameni following the midfielder’s performance in the win over Almeria on Saturday evening.
The France international played the entire duration of the game as Los Blancos registered a 4-2 win over Almeria at the Santiago Bernabeu.
A Karim Benzema hattrick and a stunner from Rodrygo Goes saw Madrid maintain their second spot on the La Liga league table with seven more games to go.
However, one player who stood out aside from the goalscorers was Tchouameni, who was coming into the starting lineup for the first time in a while.
The Frenchman had his chance following an injury to Luka Modric and performed to the satisfaction of his manager.
“I think Tchouaméni is an important player because covers our central defenders well, he’s good in the penalty area when the rivals enter”, as per reports from Marca.
“However, with the ball he needs to improve, he’s very young and he’s learning.
“I told him not to move so much because he has a lot of energy and sometimes he loses his position.”
With the Croatian expected to be out for the foreseeable future, Tchouameni has an opportunity to make his game count and hand Ancelotti a selection headache.
