Erling Haaland swore live on television during Manchester City’s trophy celebrations on Sunday, prompting Sky Sports to offer an apology.
The Premier League trophy was presented to Pep Guardiola’s team after they won their fifth championship in six years. Arsenal’s loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday confirmed they had successfully defended their title for the third consecutive year.
Players were celebrating on the field, and several celebrities gave on-location interviews to Sky’s punditry crew.
However, Norwegian striker Haaland unexpectedly interrupted Jack Grealish’s interview, shouting “I f***ing love you, you know that” to the England winger before rejoining the celebrations.
Although Haaland has used the word “live” on television before, presenter Dave Jones quickly apologized for the event. In an interview following his first Premier League game for City, against West Ham, the former Borussia Dortmund forward accidentally used two expletives.
Haaland also spoke with Geoff Shreeves during a separate interview, pausing midway to join the City supporters in a jubilant dance.
