After receiving a last-minute call from Didier Deschamps to the France team, Boubacar Kamara made the decision to take a chance and postpone his honeymoon.

After injuries caused Les Bleus to hunt for replacements and the young player cut short his vacation in paradise to return to his native France, the Aston Villa star was given the opportunity to make his senior debut for his country. However, the midfielder was left as an unused substitute by his manager.

During the postseason international break, Didier Deschamps chose the 23-year-old to replace the injured Adrien Rabiot for matches against Gibraltar and Greece.

After embarking on his dream vacation with Coralie Porrovecchio, Kamara was enjoying his honeymoon when he received a call. However, they soon found themselves flying back to Clairefontaine.

Just a few days after their wedding, Porrovecchio posted pictures of their return to France on social media. One of the photos showed them in a moving car with the phrase “ON MY WAY,” and another showed Kamara boarding a private flight with his luggage.

When Kamara joined the national squad, though, it all turned out to be for naught.

Not only was the midfielder cruelly ignored by Deschamps during the 3-0 triumph against Gibraltar on Friday, but also during the 1-0 victory over Greece on Monday.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid were selected by the seasoned coach to form the central midfield partnership.

It should be noted that Kamara has previously earned three caps for his nation, therefore this would not have been his national team debut. After turning down a call-up from Senegal, he made his debut in a France jersey during the 1-1 draw with Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

However, it seems that the opportunity to solidify his place in the team under Deschamps was too alluring to pass up. As a result, Kamara may now have some second thoughts about his decision to abandon his vacation with Coralie, his new wife and the mother of his two children Leeroy and Kingsley.

After joining Villa Park on a free transfer from Marseille in July of last year and agreeing to a five-year contract, Kamara put together a strong debut year.

Before sustaining ligament damage to his knee in November, which prevented him from competing in the World Cup in Qatar, he made 29 appearances for the club the previous season and was in position to receive a call-up to the team.
