Real Madrid have confirmed reaching an agreement with Luka Modric to extend the player’s contract for another year.
Modric has decided to continue his career at Real Madrid and has signed a contract extension with the club until June 2024.
The veteran midfielder joins Toni Kroos who has also agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid for another year.
Madrid acquired the services of Modric from Tottenham in 2012, and the playmaker has won almost 20 titles at the Santiago Bernabeu, including five Champions League triumphs.
The midfielder was a subject of interest from Suadi Arabian side, Al-Hilal but he chose to stay in the Spanish capital instead.
Modric reacted to the announcement of his contract extension with a brief post on social media. “Home Sweet Home,” as he wrote on Twitter.
With the arrival of Jude Bellingham and the contract renewal of Dani Ceballos, Carlo Ancelotti will have a positive headache choosing his starting lineup in the middle of the park.
The Italian coach also has available at his disposal Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Kroos while Federico Valverde is also an option.
