Senegal international Sadio Mane has described his first season with Bayern Munich as being ‘very complicated’ following his struggles.
Mane endured a difficult season in Germany during the 2022/23 campaign after deciding to leave Liverpool, with the player signing for Bayern in a deal worth £35 million.
Mane started 18 league games for the Bavarian club scoring seven goals and providing five assists in that run.
However, back in April, the forward was fined £250,000 and was banned for one match after a brawl with teammate Leroy Sane, which left the latter with a swollen lip.
Mane went silent on the incident but has now reflected on it whilst speaking to reporters in Senegal.
“This kind of things can happen. It happened. We were able to solve this small problem,” Mane said as quoted by Daily Mail.
“Sometimes it’s good to solve problems, but maybe not in this way. It’s behind us now. We’ll try to fight together to help the club achieve its goals next season.”
Mane added: “I’m on vacation with the family. It was a very complicated season, it happens. It wasn’t a surprise, I expected things to be a bit complicated. It’s normal.
“I love challenges, and Bayern is a big challenge. It’s up to me to do everything to meet this challenge.”
Mane also ruled out the possibility of leaving Bayern during this summer’s transfer window.
