Premier League interest in Mohammed Kudus is no surprise – Chris Hughton

Ghana’s head coach says he is not shocked by Premier League clubs’ interest in Mohammed Kudus.

Following his great season with Ajax during the 2022/23 season, the Ghanaian wonder has piqued the interest of several English clubs.

The player’s performances in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar appeared to have persuaded numerous clubs interested in signing him.

Brighton and Hove Albion, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are the most recent clubs to be linked with him, following Everton’s interest in him during the January transfer window.

Hughton praised the 22-year-old and assessed his chances of excelling in the Premier League in an interview with talkSPORT on Tuesday, August 1.

“He [Kuds] is a player of interest. There is no doubt and I know there was interest last season [from] Everton,” he said.

“He is a player that will always show interest from clubs. He is young and has super abilities and also has that flexibility…

“[Premier League interest is] no surprise. The most important thing is he is playing.”
