The Premier League resumes this weekend for the second round of games after the opening weekend.

Manchester United travel to London to play Tottenham Hotspur in the second league game after an unconvincing win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their first game.

Erik ten Hag’s boys had to rely on a second goal from Raphael Varane to clinch all three points against Wolves at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur, on the other hand, were held to a 2-2 draw away from home against Brentford.

The game against Brentford was Tottenham’s first without Harry Kane who left for Bayern Munich before the start of the Premier League season.

The London-based side will feel no pressure to score goals this season despite the departure of Kane after netting two on matchday one.

The Red Devils have now won five consecutive Premier League games, despite finishing the 2022-23 season with just three wins from their final ten games on opponent turf, including a 2-2 draw with Ryan Mason’s Tottenham.

Ten Hag’s team blew a two-goal lead to tie with the Lilywhites that day, but Man United now return to North London having avoided defeat in each of their last five meetings with Tottenham, whose most recent success in this game was an incredible 6-1 Old Trafford victory in October 2020.

The game on Saturday will be the first real test for both teams with a lot of games still to come.
