The Black Stars of Ghana have fate in their own hands when they Central African Republic in their final qualifier for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana needs a point to secure qualification to the tournament while a win will be enough for their opponents to also secure a ticket to Ivory Coast.

The game which is scheduled to be played at the Baba Yara Stadium presents the Black Stars with an advantage as they haven’t lost in Kumasi since February 2000.

The last meeting between these two teams saw a stalemate when Ghana travelled away from home with a 1-1 scoreline at the end of 90 minutes.

Chris Hughton’s side are top of the table in Group E having accumulated nine points from their opening five games.

Raoul Savoy’s men, however, sit third in the group with seven points, two behind Ghana and one behind Angola who are second and face Madagascar in their final group game.

The Black Stars will be without the services of Joseph Paintsil, who withdrew from the squad as a precautionary measure after carrying an injury from the weekend.

The game is set for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
