Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has revealed the current France team is the best he has played in.

The winger returned to the squad for the 2024 European Championships qualifiers during the September transfer window.

The 26-year-old spoke to Téléfoot about the present quality of the France national team, admitting that he believes it is the best team he has ever played in.

Dembélé moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The former Borussia Dortmund winger currently plays alongside Kylian Mbappé at club level, while Randal Kolo Muani also joined shortly before the transfer deadline. Since his big-money move from Eintracht Frankfurt, the former FC Nantes forward has yet to play for Les Parisiens.

However, with Olivier Giroud returning to Milan after suffering an ankle injury against the Republic of Ireland in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Thursday, PSG’s front three might all start against Germany on Tuesday.

Dembélé, a World Cup winner with Les Bleus in 2018, was questioned in an interview with Téléfoot whether he believes the current iteration of the France national team is the best side he has played for.

“I think that it’s the best team I’ve played in. The team has backup in every position with players with a lot of quality that play in the best teams in the world. There is a lot of competition, but it’s a good thing and it pushes everyone to the maximum.”

France will face Germany in their next game on Tuesday, September 12, having beaten Ireland in their last fixture.
