Winless in their last two Premier League games, Manchester United have an opportunity to build momentum once again on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s side are up against Burnley in the sixth game of the 2023/24 league season after just two wins in five games. They have also lost the other three with defeats to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion.

United were also handed another defeat in midweek when they lost to Bayern Munich in their opening game of the UEFA Champions League season.

A Casemiro brace was not enough as the German side sealed a 4-3 win but the positive for Man United was Rasmus Hojlund getting his first goal for the club.

Burnley are one of five teams who are yet to win a game in the Premier League this season. The newly promoted side’s only point of the campaign came in their last game against Nottingham Forest in a 1-1 stalemate.

Vincent Kompany’s side has suffered defeats to Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur so far.

However, they have a win to their name in all competitions after a 1-0 over Forest in the EFL Cup last month.

Against United, Burnley will be facing a team that has also flattered to deceive after a good campaign last season.

Burnley are without a win in their last four meetings against the Red Devils and would have to go back to 2020 the last time they defeated United.

The game is scheduled for a 14:00 GMT kickoff on Saturday.
