La Liga President Javier Tebas says there is increasing confidence Kylian Mbappe will play in the Spanish league next season.

The France international has been a long-term target of Real Madrid with the club failing to sign him after several tries.

Tebas spoke with Juanma Castao in an exclusive interview for ‘Deporte Plus+: Especial Javier Tebas’ on Monday for Movistar Plus+ where they discussed critical issues affecting club executives and the overall state of Spanish football.

When quizzed about the likelihood of Mbappe making a move to La Liga next season, Tebas responded with measured optimism, stating, “Convinced, convinced, no. But it is a destiny for him, for sure. Next year it will be more than 70-80%.”

Tebas expressed doubts about the chances of reconciling with Madrid President Florentino Pérez, comparing their disagreements to a great cultural divide.

“It is as if I said ‘hey, is there any possibility that you can give me your house? Isn’t there?’ We are on the same type of wavelength,” he said.

“There is an abysmal difference in how we view European football. There is no possibility of agreeing on my part, nor that of the majority of the La Liga clubs, that the big clubs are the ones that have to determine the destiny, the future, the distribution of money of the European football industry.”
