Girona vs Real Madrid prediction, odds and preview

It will be a top-of-the-table clash when Girona host Real Madrid on matchday eight of the Spanish La Liga on Saturday.

Michel’s boys have had a strong start to the 2023/24 season and occupied the top spot heading into this game week with Madrid coming in second.

Since the opening-day draw against Real Sociedad away from home, Girona have had six straight wins in the top flight including wins over Sevilla, Mallorca and Villarreal.

The home side have kept just two clean sheets in their seven games played so far, both coming at home against Getafe and Las Palmas.

Madrid, on the other hand, responded well to the defeat to Atletico Madrid by claiming a 2-0 win over Las Palmas in midweek.

Brahim Diaz and Joselu Mato scored in the second half of the game at the Santiago Bernabeu in a fixture which saw Carlo Ancelotti make five changes to his starting lineup.

Madrid, just like Girona, also have six wins in the league and have kept three clean sheets in that run. They are yet to concede more than one goal in a game this season.

Madrid don’t have good times in their last three meetings against Girona, losing two and drawing one.
