Tuesday night’s encounter between Italian champions Napoli and Real Madrid at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona will be one of the highlights of this season’s Champions League group stage.

Napoli are coming off a 4-0 thrashing of Lecce in Serie A, while Real Madrid were 3-0 winners against Girona in La Liga the previous weekend.

Victor Osimhen put behind a feud between himself and Napoli to bag in goals for the club in midweek and over the weekend as well.

They won their fourth league game of the season on Saturday, scoring four unanswered goals against Lecce as they moved to 14 points after seven games played.

Napoli are third in Serie A, four points behind leaders Inter Milan, and have won three of their previous four matches in all competitions, including a 2-1 victory over Braga in their Champions League opening game.

Napoli’s last meeting with Madrid was in the round of 16 in 2016-17, with the Spanish giants winning 3-1 both at home and away to advance to the next round on a 6-2 aggregate score.

Madrid come into the team after another impressive win over the weekend which saw Jude Bellingham return to the scoresheet.

Carlo Ancelotti’s boys recorded a 3-0 away win over Girona to go top of the Spanish La Liga table.

Madrid beat Union Berlin thanks to a late Bellingham goal in their Champions League opener.
