Manchester City midfielder Rodri has dismissed talks of a potential transfer to the Saudi Pro League with the Spaniard focused on competing in Europe in the coming years.
Rodri, 27, believes the Saudi Pro League project is not aligned to his career ambitions as he looks to compete at the highest level in Europe to leave a mark as one of the best midfielders in world football.
He went on to say; “My future? I’m very happy at City. I heard about Saudi but it would be very complicated to join a project like Saudi for me”.
“My priority in football is ambition — as sporting, individual, collective ambition. At the moment, Arabia is not there”, told COPE.
Rodri looks forward to winning more titles with the Citizens and Spain ahead of the 2024 European Championships.
As it stands, the Spaniard is likely to fulfill his contract at Man City which expires in the summer of 2027 after having an incredible impact last season, leading the citizens to their first Champions League title in history.
