Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has backed Rasmus Hojlund to score goals for the club despite his recent inactivity in front of goal.
Since making his Premier League debut, Hojlund is yet to score a goal in the league which has raised concerns at the club. The Denmark international has, however, scored three goals in two games in the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.
It was expected the youngster would get on the scoresheet when United faced Sheffield United over the weekend but Hojlund blanked once again.
However, his goal-scoring concerns does not bother his manager who has backed him to score goals at the club.
“I am sure he will score goals. I’m confident, he’s going to do that and Rashford too,” Ten Hag said at his press conference ahead of United’s Champions League game.
“I think Rasmus is a player who’ll always be in scoring positions in our team.”
The Red Devils face Copenhagen in their next game on Tuesday looking to register their first point in the Champions League after two defeats in their opening two games.
United lost 4-3 to Bayern in their opening game before succumbing to defeat against Galatasaray at Old Trafford.
