Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has praised Harry Maguire’s performances in the recent games he has been given minutes.

After starting the season as one of the out-of-favour players, injuries have forced Maguire back into the team with the England international starting the last two games for the club in the Premier League.

Maguire started the game against Brentford and provided the assist for the winning goal in the fixture while he was also back in the starting lineup as United secured all three points against Sheffield United.

Ten Hag, quizzed on the player’s involvement, lauded him and revealed he has been pleased with his outings.

“Harry Maguire is playing like we want him to play, dominating his opponent. I am happy with his performances,” the Dutchman said after the game against the Blades.

“He deserved the Man of the Match award [on Saturday]. He played a really good game, and read the game very well. I am pleased for him.”

Maguire is expected to be in the lineup once again when the Red Devils play against Copenhagen in their third group game of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
