Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is positive that the london based club are on a progressive trajectory after their 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge over the weekend.

Despite a slow start to the 2023/24 season, Palmer is confident Chelsea will be better as the season progresses but believes all aspects of the team must be directed towards improving their level in order to be where the club ought to be.

Scoring the game’s opener last Sunday was crucial for the young Englishman who believes the team did compete at a top level against a formidable side in the league.

“We were at home in front of our own fans, so we weren’t going to show them [Arsenal] too much respect. We know that they’re good but we’re good as well. We played well,” he said.

“There are still a lot of areas we can improve in, but we’re going in the right direction. It’s starting to click, as you can see from the results in the past four games, but there’s much more to come and we need to keep going.”

With no European games to look forward to in midweek, the Blues are focused on the next round of Premier League matches next weekend as they return to Stamford Bridge to play Brentford.
