Barcelona will face Real Madrid at home on Saturday in the Spanish La Liga hoping to go above the latter on the league table.

Just one point separates Barcelona and Madrid in the league after 10 games played with the Blaugrana club on 24 points while Los Blancos have amassed 25 so far.

Xavi Hernandez’s team are yet to lose a game in the league so far this season, the only club yet to do so while Madrid suffered defeat against Atletico in the Madrid derby.

However, Barcelona have had three stalemates since the start of the 2023/24 domestic campaign compared to Madrid’s only draw against Sevilla last weekend away from home.

Madrid won the last fixture between these two teams last season as they recorded a 4-0 win at Camp Nou to overturn a 1-0 first-leg tie in the Copa del Rey. That victory saw them head into the final of the competition and eventually beat Osasuna to it.

Just like in the Copa del Rey, both teams picked a win each in the league meetings coming at the respective home grounds.

Since taking over as Barcelona boss, Xavi has had four wins over Carlo Ancelotti while the latter has managed three and Saturday will be another opportunity to have a go at each other.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 14:15 GMT.
