Erik ten Hag hints at Mason Mount role against Manchester City

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has hinted Mason Mount could return to the starting lineup for the game against Manchester City.

United welcome City to Old Trafford in the Premier League looking to build on from their midweek performance against Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

Mount has not started any of the Red Devils last two games while he was an unused substitute against the Danish side in the European game.

Since making the switch from Chelsea to United in the summer, the England international has not enjoyed the start he was hoping for but his manager believes the midfielder still has something to offer the team.

“I’m not worried. He’s come on in a lot of games, he’s started a lot of games,” Ten Hag said in his presser ahead of Sunday’s fixture.

“He’s definitely one of the guys we’ll look at fielding on Sunday. He’s got some ability which can be very useful against City.”

Mount is yet to score or assist a goal for United in the Premier League since making his debut.
