Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham says he is looking forward to winning trophies with his team despite clinching the Kopa Trophy.
The 20-year-old was revealed at Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris as the winner of the award, taking over from Barcelona’s Gavi.
Bellingham has had an incredible start to his Real Madrid career, scoring 13 goals in his first 13 games since signing in the summer.
The Kopa Trophy honours his performances for Borussia Dortmund last season, where he scored 14 goals in 42 appearances.
Bellingham was also part of the England team that reached the quarterfinal of the World Cup in Qatar.
“It is a great list of players [to have won this award before],” he said after receiving the award.
“It is an honour to be in front of some of the best players in the world here and some of the best to have ever played the game.
“To win this trophy means a lot but for me, the important thing is team trophies and the important thing for me is to kick on and help Real Madrid and England win trophies for many years.”
Bellingham was twice on the scoresheet as Madrid beat Barcelona in the El Clasico last weekend.
