Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has applauded the performance of his players in their league cup win over Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The Reds booked a place in the quarterfinals of the EFL competition after a convincing 2-1 victory over Bournemouth away from home.
Cody Gakpo’s opener was cancelled out by Justin Kluivert after the hour mark before Darwin Nunez went on to grab the winner for the Merseysiders.
Speaking after the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave credit to his team for the fight they shoowed in ensuring they secured a slot in the next round.
“I saw my team play well, how hard we really wanted it and I’m really happy about that,” he said.
“It was a top Cup game in strange circumstances.”
Liverpool will take on West Ham United in the quarterfinals and are deemed favorites to in this year’s edition having won the title just two seasons ago.
