‘I would rather beat Barcelona than Rayo’ – Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says he would take a win over Barcelona over one over Rayo Vallecano.

Los Blancos drew blank in their league game against Rayo on Sunday night at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It was the second time Madrid had failed to win a league game this season, the first being the defeat against Atletico Madrid earlier in the season.

Ancelotti steered his side to a 2-1 comeback win Barcelona in their last game before drawing against Rayo with many saying they didn’t deserve all three points.

“We didn’t deserve to win El Clásico? It could be a draw because we scored in the last minute. I’d rather beat Barcelona than Rayo,” Ancelotti told the media Sunday’s fixture.

“We are hurt by the result, but not by the game. Sometimes you win by deserving it and sometimes you don’t deserve it and you win.”

The Italian boss adds that his team will look to continue their good run of form in midweek when they come up against Braga in their fourth group game in the UEFA Champions League.

“No drama. We’re in a good position, also in the Champions League. We will continue like this,” he added.
