Erik ten Hag has backed Marcus Rashford to regain his best form for Manchester United when the team starts playing better.
Rashford was United’s leading scorer last season, with 30 goals, and was rewarded with a new £300,000-a-week contract in the summer.
However, the forward has scored just one goal all season across all competitions and suffered another setback in midweek as he was sent off United’s defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League.
But Ten Hag has thrown his support behind the struggling forward once more, insisting that Rashford will regain his form.
“I think he is not happy, and we are not happy,” said the United boss. “He has high expectations for himself and in this moment he is not in his best form.
“I know he will be back and when the team is playing better, he will play better and score goals. I am confident in that.
“He will improve and score goals this season. He is totally aware of everything, so he will be back on track.
“It can happen very quickly. Sometimes you only need one game and I am sure we will get there.”
United face Luton Town on Saturday, November 11, at Old Trafford.
