Former Barcelona defender Carles Puyol says he is optimistic things will get better for the club despite their slow start to the 2023/24 season.
Barcelona currently sit third in the Spanish La Liga after 12 games played and find themselves behind Giron and arch-rivals Real Madrid.
While they have not been too convincing lately, injuries have also played a role in Xavi’s men struggling to get the best out of themselves on the pitch.
However, Puyol, who once played alongside the club’s current manager believes things will get better at the club.
“This season we have had tough moments, with many injuries, and this always makes things difficult,” Xavi said in a recent interview.
“I have confidence in the team. The evaluations have to be made at the end of the season.”
Barcelona have lost just one league game this season and have played out out three stalemates while they have also suffered just one defeat in their four UEFA Champions League games.
Return from the international break will see them face an in-form Rayo Vallecano side away from home.
