Despite his limited minutes at the club so far this season, Luka Modric says he will continue to give his everything for the team.

The 38-year-old started just four games in the league this season with Madrid playing 13 times which has seen him average 39 minutes per game.

Carlo Ancelotti’s preference for a midfield quartet of Aurelien Tchoumeni, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham means the Croatia captain has to settle for making an impact from the bench this campaign.

In the Champions League, he has made two substitute appearances while starting the other two in the group stage.

However, Modric is not worried about his new role and says he will continue to fight for the club.

“I’m gonna continue giving everything for Real Madrid,” he said while on international duty.

“Real Madrid means everything to me, it’s part of my life and my family. Real Madrid is a way of being. I was born in Croatia but I feel at home here.”

Modric has started six games for Croatia in their 2024 European Championship qualifiers and is expected to captain the side once again when they face Latvia on Saturday.
