France striker Olivier Giroud has expressed his desire to continue his club career in Milan despite his contract ending in the summer.

The 37-year-old joined Milan from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 after winning the Champions League and has gone on to form a formidable attacking partnership with Portuguese winger Rafael Leao since moving to Italy.

The Frenchman extended his contract for a further year with the Rossoneri last summer after putting up convincing performances in attack for Milan.

With eight goals in all competitions for the club this season, the veteran striker believes a contract extension is crucial for him as he eyes further success with Milan.

“I’d love to stay at Milan. My deal is due to expire in June and I haven’t spoken to the club about my future yet.”

“I want to stay, I think I can still help the team. I won’t put any limit to my career,” he told Le JDD.

The all-time France top scorer was instrumental for Milan last season, leading them to a Champions League semi-final finish for the first time since 2007.
