Koln will look to make an unexpected upset when they host Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Friday night.

Bayern, however, hope to be temporary table toppers with a victory as league leaders Bayer Leverkusen do not feature until Sunday in Bremen.

A 1-1 draw with Vfl Bochum prior to the International break was enough to move the hosts a spot up in the drop zone despite their disappointing start to the campaign.

Koln will be hopeful of building on that result, yet an in-form Bayern Munich side stands in the way of the hosts’ chances of being two points away from escaping relegation.

Thomas Tuchel’s men seemed to be winning convincingly in recent matches in the league prior to their victory over Heidenheim yet the newly promoted side managed to expose cracks in Bayern’s defence.

Heidenheim came from two goals behind to level the score with 20 minutes remaining, but, Bayern managed to seal the win through two crucial goals from substitutes Raphael Guerreiro and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on the day.

Bayern are one of two sides yet to lose a game this season and could continue in that route with Harry Kane not showing any signs of slowing down for the Bavarians.

Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala, who is suffering from a hamstring issue as Matthijs De Ligt is expected to return to action in January after his knee injury.

The restart after the International break could see unexpected results unfold yet Thomas Tuchel’s men remain favourites to grab the win on Friday night.

The match is scheduled for a 7:30 pm Kickoff.
