Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was full of praise for youngtser Kobbie Mainoo following his performance in the win over Everton.
The 18-year-old started his first Premier League game on Sunday in the Red Devils demolishing of the Toffees following his return to full fitness.
Mainoo was only making his return to first team football for the first time since suffering an injury in July during United’s pre-season.
His performance on Sunday convinced Fernandes who believes the youngster deserved to be Man of the Match.
“He’s the man of the match. For his age he has so much qualities. He sees things before others,” he said.
“He is comfortable with the ball and never makes a mistake. Kobbie put in a great performance yesterday, for sure. Very good.”
After the game, United boss Erik ten Hag also couldn’t hide his admiration for the England youth international.
“We have to develop players. Kids have to deserve it. It was painful for us when he got a bad injury in pre-season but now he’s back,” he added.
“He’s a good boy, very mature. He showed it today. I like him.”
United recorded a 3-0 win at Goodison Park with Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial getting on the scoresheet.
