Aston Villa manager Unai Emery says he considers Douglas Luiz as crucial for his project despite multiple reports linking the Brazilian to Arsenal.
The Gunners saw three bids rejected by the Villans in the summer of 2021 as the Brazil international subsequently signed a new long-term contract at Villa Park, but links over a switch to north London have resurfaced.
However, Unai Emery has placed his verdict on the future of the Brazilian despite rumours of a possible move away from Aston Villa in January.
“Douglas is playing very good and his commitment is amazing. I want him here,” he said.
“I am very happy with him and I want to keep him, of course. I think he’s happy with us too”.
The 25-year-old has been integral for Villa this season, scoring six goals in all competitions as the club continues their pursuit of Champions League football next season.
