Chelsea will look to return to winning ways when they host Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

The Blues suffered a heavy defeat at St James’ Park last weekend to Newcastle United in a humiliating 4-1 fixture and remained in the bottom half of the league standings.

Unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions, Brighton approach this game on the back of a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend before edging past AEK Athens in the UEFA Europa League in midweek.

Chelsea have two wins, a draw and two defeats in their last five matches against Brighton and will look to hold the advantage when both teams go toe-to-toe this weekend.

Brighton are unbeaten in their last six matches in all competitions, drawing and winning three apiece.

However, despite ending Tottenham Hotspur’s unbeaten run and drawing Manchester City in an eight-goal thriller, Mauricio Pochettino’s men can boast of only two wins in their last six matches.

The big misses for the Blues will be Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana but Christopher Nkunku could make his Premier League debut on Sunday for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, the Seagulls will be without Ansu Fati and Tariq Lamptey, who both sustained injuries last week. Lewis Dunk and Mahmoud Dahoud are also ruled out as both players are serving suspensions ahead of this clash.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
