Bernardo Silva says he was left disappointed with the refereeing in Manchester City’s 3-3 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspurs at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
With the score tied at 3-3 in the final stages of the game, central referee Simon Hooper played an advantage on a foul on Erling Haaland in Manchester City’s half.
Haaland then played a pass into the path of Jack Grealish who seemed to be through on goal. However, Hooper called the play back for the foul he had already given the advantage on, leaving the Cityzens aggrieved in the final minutes of the match.
Speaking to the press after the game, Silva expressed his displeasure with Hooper’s decision.
“It’s a bad decision and everyone saw it. The referee probably is the first one to know it was a very, very bad decision because he’s one-on-one with the keeper and he could have given us the three points.”
The result leaves the champions in third place on the Premier League standings, three points behind leaders Arsenal, and two points behind rivals Liverpool in the title race.
City face another tough task away from home on Wednesday when they come up against Aston Villa who sit just a spot behind them in fourth place on the league table.
