Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez insists he is delighted with Joao Felix after the forward scored the winner in Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Atlètico Madrid on Sunday night.
The 24-year-old put Barcelona in front at the Olympic Stadium and remained crucial for the Catalans, playing 77 minutes and not hesitating to celebrate after his goal against his parent club.
Xavi Hernandez was impressed with the performance of the Portuguese forward and believes he will remain integral to Barcelona’s pursuit of further success this season.
“We are delighted with Joao Felix. He works hard and provides us with goals. He has caused no problems, if anything he has united this team even more.”
Although the Catalans moved to third place over rivals Atlètico Madrid in La Liga, Xavi Hernandez’s men take on league leaders Girona next Sunday, which is expected to be another tough task for the Blaugrana in the title race.
