Manchester United will face Chelsea in midweek looking to bounce back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag’s men fell short last weekend to Newcastle United while Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 3-2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge.

Prior to the Newcastle clash last weekend, the Red Devils had won three consecutive games in the league without conceding.

However, the defeat to the Magpies saw them drop to seventh place while Chelsea moved up to tenth on the league table.

Five points separate the two sides ahead on Wednesday’s fixture. United will be confident of bouncing back to winning ways as Ten Hag’s men have suffered no defeat to Chelsea in their last five matches.

A 4-1 win over Chelsea in May saw the Red Devils dominate the Blues at home. Yet, this clash could come differently for the hosts, as Mauricio Pochettino’s men have managed to strip points off Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool this season.

Former Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount could feature in this clash after suffering from a calf injury meanwhile Reece James and Marc Cucurella are expected to return for the Blues after serving out suspensions.

Chelsea have scored 12 goals in their last four league matches and will expect to continue their fine run against long-term rivals Manchester United.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.
